Jan van der Grinten
Jan van der Grinten studied history and law at the universities
of Groningen, Utrecht and Siena, Italy. In 1997 he began his career
as an administrative-law attorney at a big lawfirm in Amsterdam. He
joined Kennedy Van der Laan in 2007.
Jan acts on behalf of governments and businesses in
administrative-law and civil-law proceedings. His practice covers
environmental law, matters concerning subsidies for subsidy
providers and subsidy applicants, matters concerning the Government
Information Public Access Act, supervision and enforcement,
government liability, and contracts with the government.
Jan van der Grinten is a lecturer at Leiden University, where he
teaches a course on government liability, among other things. He
regularly contributes annotations of new administrative case law
developments to the leading Dutch journal on administrative law and
he is editor of the journal Jurisprudentie Milieurecht
(Environmental Case Law). He is a deputy district court judge in
Arnhem and chairman of the administrative appeals and objections
board of the City of Leiden.
