Ester Damen
Early in 2008 Ester Damen graduated cum laude from Utrecht
University, with a master in Law and Business. During her studies
Ester engaged in various extracurricular activities for, inter
alia, the Utrecht Law Students’ Association and the Faculty of
Law, including as an editor of the Faculty Journal Juncto
and as a member of the co-governance body of her faculty.
In 2008 Ester joined Kennedy Van der Laan as a member of the
Employment Law group. Her practice covers all aspects of employment
law, ranging from individual dismissal cases to reorganizations.
Ester also regularly defends her clients in court.
She specializes in employee co-governance law as well. She
advises both employers and works councils on the application of the
Dutch Works Councils Act, and contributes to the journal OR
Rendement. Ester also advises clients on privacy aspects in
labor law matters.
Ester often works in the transportation sector; in 2011 she was
seconded to a large company operating in this market. There too she
advised the management, as an in-house lawyer, about all kinds of
issues of labor and co-governance law.
