Emiel Jurjens
Emiel Jurjens joined Kennedy Van der Laan in 2012. He advises
and litigates in the field of Intellectual Property and Media
Law.
Emiel attended University College Utrecht, where he followed
courses in English in many different fields. Next, he obtained a
master's degree (cum laude) in public international law
and human rights at Utrecht University. To fulfill his wish to
become an attorney, he then followed the LL.B programme in Utrecht
and a number of courses in intellectual property law at VU
University Amsterdam.
During his studies, Emiel worked as a paralegal, board member of
a non-profit organization, entrepreneur and musician. He is also
one of the founders of a foundation for the promotion of
entrepreneurship in Latin America and Africa.
In his spare time, Emiel loves to travel (Sicily), read (Paul
Auster, The Economist) and listen to and make music (hip hop).
