Handbook on Insolvency Law part 10
The section on International Insolvency Law in the deals with
the insolvency-related legal issues arising in cross-border
relations.
Trustees in bankruptcy are increasingly confronted with legal
relationships with a debtor located in another country from the
creditor. For example, the debtor may have a location or assets
located in another country. The result is that rules from different
jurisdictions may be applicable to the property of the debtor.
This section discusses international insolvency law in general
and specifically the European Insolvency Regulation which is
applicable to insolvency procedures in which the center of main
interests of the insolvent debtor is located within the European
Union.
